CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Chandler police say four boys are accused of abusing a kitten during the incident that occurred Oct. 14.
Police they reviewed surveillance video from a trailer park after getting a call about animal cruelty.
Sgt. Joe Sgt. Joe Favazzo says the video shows the kitten being kicked, struck with a ball and knocked around before its dead body was thrown into a pool.
Favazzo says conducting interviews for the investigation took some time and that the four boys were arrested Sunday on a charge of animal cruelty.
Their names were not released but police say the range from 8 to 12 years old.
Two other boys were present but one did not participate in the alleged abuse. The other wasn’t arrested because he was only 7 years old.
