(Las Vegas, NV) – Clark County commissioners have denied a permit for a man hoping to keep four chimpanzees at his southwest valley home.
James Casey was seeking permission to house the animals until the end of next year, when they will be moved to a larger sanctuary.
His request had been met with opposition from animal rights groups and county staffers, who recommended denying the permit. Neighbors have said they are concerned about wild animals being kept in their area.
